Preview your source files
The Video Disc Wizard contains a preview area for selected project files. When preparing a VIDEO_TS-based project, use it to identify the expected content where the preview is available. Also check that the authored folder contains the files required for DVD playback.
The preview is for checking project files. It does not provide full DVD player or screenshot editor features, and frame capture is not guaranteed for every disc. If you need a still image, use a player or editor with an explicit frame-export function.
Verify the data and test playback
Data verification compares what was read or written. It can reveal a failed copy even when a short video preview looks normal. Conversely, readable data does not guarantee that an older standalone player accepts the disc type, video standard or authored project.
Keep the original source until the image has been verified and the physical disc has been tested on the intended device. That provides a useful recovery path if a later check reveals a problem.
Step-By-Step Instructions
- 1
Preview the DVD project
Open the relevant video project and inspect the available preview. Check the expected files and titles instead of relying only on the first visible frame.
- 2
Verify the copied data
Use Verify after copy for the image workflow, or the corresponding verification option after writing a disc. Read any reported errors before proceeding.
- 3
Test the DVD on your player
For a physical DVD, test navigation, several playback points and audio on the device that will actually be used. Retain the source project and image.

Common Questions
Is a successful preview enough to approve a backup?
No. Previewing a file does not check every part of an image or a written disc.
Can I save a screenshot from a DVD?
The current release does not advertise universal disc-frame capture. Use a dedicated player or editor when a still image is the required output.
